I am afraid I must disagree with you that voting rights should only be limited to property owners, or even net – tax payers because property taxes are reflected in the cost of the goods, and services we all consume, even those of us who own nothing and are unhappy; also, our government is not fully funded by taxation. Since the revolution, it was funded in whole, or in part, by inflation; it is the most insidious form of larceny in that it is inherently regressive, and harms most the most oppressed people in any society. They are the aged, the poor, and the minorities. Therefore, if we must have a government, every law – abiding citizen must be able to vote.
