The tactics of the NSA completely undermine the protections inherent in the 4th Amendment. There is no difference, in principle, between a government official walking into your home and taking your mail and a government official seizing your email records. The resources the government can employ when prosecuting you are vast and our protection against abuse stems from this Amendment. However, in a digital world, where property becomes blurred, the government has seized an opportunity to circumvent the restraints of the 4th Amendment. The people must act to create laws to end this obvious abuse.
