On a personal note, we got this hilariously cute golden retriever puppy from Santa and all agreed to name her Sugar Magnolia, but we can’t agree on whether to call her Sugar or Maggie…Sugar seems fitting, but Maggie might be a name with more room for her to grow into…What do you think?

I love maggie! there are too many Sugars. I foster dogs and have had 2 ‘sugars’ at one time. Maggie is a good name. I also volunteer w/Adopt a golden Atlanta and just LOVE goldens! I’m on my 3rd one and hope to never be without one..;-) Sharon

MonicaL I think Sugar is a good name. My vet once told me that a dog whose name ends in an “eee” sound does not respond to you as well as one with a hard syllable at the end of the name. Works for me. I have two well behaved pups of my own.
