Monica, your podcasts are a real treasure as my schedule will not permit me to take in your sometimes 10 to midnight gigs. I certainly can identify/agree with so much of what you mentioned on this show. And as I look back on my life, I realize how much time I have frittered away when I could have been reading. As a kid I was enraptured with Solzenitsen and Dostoyefski, and others (Sp? for both), but the formal schooling demands, and then the job changed the reading habit. I must get back to what’s important.
And I forget to mention I was born and raised in the Baltimore area…Towson, to be specific. No one should miss the video you link to. I had seen it before and it demonstrates well the state of affairs in this nation. We have lost our country. Can we reclaim it? Our only chance requires us to wake up and appreciate our dire straights.
Robert Small’s stand reminded me of a quote from one of my favorite founders: “We are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of Nature has placed in our power… the battle, sir, is not to the strong alone it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.” Patrick Henry
