1. I agree with your comments on the true nature of government, but I believe it goes back 250 years, not 150; for example, the founding fathers required that the president be 35 years old. We are told this is because they believed that the president should be someone who was able to benefit from the wisdom obtained towards the end of their life, and should be someone who really did not need the money; however, I do not think it was a coincidence that the average age of the founding fathers just happened to be 35. By setting the age requirement at 35, they assured themselves that they could become president while weeding out the outsiders
