It always amazed me how people otherwise well-read had strong religious beliefs to point where they are willing to use people with badges, and guns to enforce their beliefs on others without having read the bible; when people ask me why I am an atheist, I am inclined to respond that it is because I actually read the bible.
I must say, I haven’t read it cover to cover but I also would never use force to propagate any of my beliefs – religious, political or otherwise
